eraiESCROW Inspection Service in China

In cooperation with ERAI, we now have an inspection center located in Guangzhou, China. The purpose of the inspection center is to prevent Customers from losing time and money on shipments that are not worthy of importation. Although having a third party perform electrical testing is a good idea, in many cases, the cost of testing exceeds the amount of money that could have been saved by simply being able to determine the relative overall quality of a part before it ever leaves China. The other problem many of you, as Buyers, are aware of is that often times your return shipment to the Seller is never claimed at China Customs, leaving your company to pay the freight bill both inbound and outbound.

*Please note: At this time, this service is only available for parts shipping from mainland China.

What does the inspection consist of?

Our inspection is straightforward, fast and efficient. The inspection consists of a stringent 17-point visual inspection process using microscopy and industry-standard methods for testing marking permanency. All inspections are done the same day product is received from the Seller and you, as the Buyer, will receive a copy of the report including detailed photos before deciding if the parts should be exported or rejected. Our visual inspection service does not perform electrical testing, de-capsulation or X-ray examination. This is a detailed visual inspection process much the same as any quality reliable distributor would perform on incoming shipments.

Can a Buyer still conduct their own inspection once the parts are received?

Yes, you will have the opportunity to conduct your own inspection of the parts. By using eraiESCROW, you have the flexibility to decide what other procedures you want in place to protect your interests including third party addendums to have the parts sent to a testing facility or to your end user for inspection.

How will the inspection service save my company time and money?

The inspection service has actually been operating in a sample test market enabling us to evaluate our processes and the early results are positive. Approximately 70% of parts inspected are rejected as a result of our inspection process. Parts are inspected the same day they arrive. Our sample Buyers definitely saved time by not being forced to wait for parts to arrive that would immediately be rejected; not to mention the cost savings for shipping and escrow fees alone.

How can the inspection service benefit a Buyer as the importer?

The inspection service ensures that all shipments arrive with the proper documentation and the correct declared values. All shipments will be charged a $10.00 fee paid by the Buyer for our freight forwarding service out of Hong Kong. The Buyer will be responsible for freight charges from the inspection center in Guangzhou to the freight forwarder in Hong Kong and onward to your facility. Our preferred shipping carriers are DHL and FedEx.

How much does an inspection cost and who pays for it?

If after reviewing the inspection report the Buyer decides to proceed with the export, the fee for the inspection service is $120.00 (paid by the Buyer) for the first line item / part number and $50.00 for each subsequent line item / part. On the other hand, if the Buyer declines the shipment based on discrepancies as noted in the inspection report, the Seller will be responsible for the inspection fee.
